Mambo Jambo's fifth album is already a reality. All the songs are original and it was recorded during three days in Barcelona at the end of February 2021. The production has been carried out by Dani Nel·lo.
Exotic Rendezvous is an exotic appointment, a way to reclaim lost paradises. When we evoke the ‘exotic’, we speak of the unheard of, the unknown and the exciting that each one carries inside, of personal places to discover, invent and fantasize with all those cultural references that we have been absorbing throughout our lives.
The Mambo Jambo have conceived this album as an antidote against the constant need for immediacy, against the slavery of the rabid news, against life transmitted at every moment and against the excess of information typical of our present. Exotic Rendezvous stands as a space where we can take refuge from all that mediocrity.
The cover is the work of the Canadian artist and illustrator Ryan Heshka, an international reference who publishes in headlines such as Esquire, Vanity Fair, Playboy, The Wall Street Journal or The New York Times. His work has similarities with the compositions of Los Mambo Jambo. Both drink from the pulp, sci-fi and illustration of the 40s and 50s, but from the contemporary era. Among Heshka's staunch fans are David Lynch and Chris Isaak.
